Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen (Carmen’s beach, or “Playa” by the locals), is a beautiful town located 40 miles south of Cancun by the sea. Once a sleepy fishermen village, Playa is now the unofficial capital of the Mayan Riviera.

How to get there?
You can take a public bus (around 7$) from Cancun international airport to Playa del Carmen main bus station. From there you can easily walk to the beach or take a taxi to your hotel. Other option is to take a shuttle bus (18$) - prices here are subject to bargain.
What to do?
Plenty of stuff! Relax at the beach, taste the excellent Mayan Riviera cuisine, do some shopping, enjoy the busy nightlife and visit the mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, Tulum and Coba.
